Smart Deband
Color banding is the appearance of distinct bands of color in an image instead of a smooth transition between subtle shades of color. Color banding usually appears in lower-quality images, or images with large areas of solid color or gradients, such as photos of the sky.
The Smart Deband feature enhances image quality removing those color bands while keeping smaller details intact. When processing photos Smart Deband also increases their color depth to 16 bits per channel which helps create even smoother gradients and provides more flexibility for further editing, especially in compressed formats like JPEG.
