Save and share custom shapes

The Shape tool comes with tons of unique shapes you'll find across a number of different shape collections, including Basic, Activities, Food, Objects, Arches, and more. You can also save shapes and shape collections of your own, share the saved shapes with others, or delete the ones you no longer use.

Customize shape presets

Once you've created a preset or a preset collection, you can rename, redefine them, or share them with others.

  1. Open the Shape browser and do any of the following:

    1. Share a custom shape: Drag and drop a shape from the list of shapes onto the desktop or into a Finder window. Share the .shapes file with someone else via email or any other way you like. To share your shapes or vector designs across different image editing apps, you can also export them to the SVG file format.

    2. Share a collection of custom shapes: Select the shape collection you'd like to export, then click More next to the Collection pop-up menu and choose Export. Share the .shapes file with someone else via email or any other way you like.

    3. Share your entire shapes library: Click More next to the Collection pop-up menu. Press and hold the Option ⌥ key, and choose Export All. Share the .shapes file with someone else via email or any other way you like.

    4. Remove a shape preset: In the list of shapes, Control ⌃ – click a shape and choose Remove Shape.

Important: Resetting the shape presets to default removes any custom shapes and returns all the default shapes that come with Pixelmator Pro.
