Rotate and flip an image

You can rotate an image and all its contents by 90 or 180 degrees, or freely. You can also flip images vertically and horizontally.
Note: These options rotate and flip the entire image. To rotate or flip individual layers, see Resize, rotate, and flip layers.
To rotate the image together with the image canvas:
Choose Image > Rotate Image from the Image menu at the top of your screen.
Choose one of the following options:
180º: Rotates the image by a half-turn.
90° Right: Rotates the image clockwise by a quarter-turn.
90° Left: Rotates the image counterclockwise by a quarter-turn.
To rotate the image independently from the image canvas:
Choose the Crop tool in the Pixelmator Pro toolbar or press C
on your keyboard.
Do any of the following:
In the Tool Options pane, click the Rotate Right button to rotate the image clockwise or Rotate Left to rotate it counterclockwise.
Click in the toolbar. You can press and hold the Option ⌥
key to change the rotation direction.
You can also click Rotate in the Tool Options pane to rotate the image by 180º, or 90° to the left or right.
Choose Image > Rotate Image from the Image menu at the top of your screen.
Choose one of the following options:
Flip Horizontal: Flips the image horizontally.
Flip Vertical: Flips the image vertically.
Also, with the Crop tool selected, you can click Flip Horizontally to flip the image horizontally or Flip Vertically to flip it vertically.
