AI masking

Using a powerful AI selection algorithm in Photomator, you instantly select and edit specific areas of an image. Photomator automatically identifies common elements in photos such as people, backgrounds, and skies, and makes a precise selection of those areas for you, allowing you to start making edits right away. This is especially useful for making edits to specific areas of a photo while keeping everything else untouched. For instance, in landscape photos with a bright sky, you can select only the sky and reduce its brightness without affecting the rest of the photo.

Automatically select a subject, sky, or background

  1. Tap Image Layer at the top of the color adjustments pane, then tap +.

  2. Choose Select Subject, Select Sky, or Select Background in the menu that appears.

If you'd like to change the details in an automatic selection, you can refine it. See the "Refine selections" section of the Masking and selections article to learn more.
