Pixelmator Pro FAQ

Find answers to commonly asked questions about Pixelmator Pro.

What are the system requirements for Pixelmator Pro?

Pixelmator Pro requires macOS 12 Monterey or later and is fully optimized for Macs with Apple silicon.

How do I install Pixelmator Pro on a new Mac?

Simply open the App Store, find Pixelmator Pro, and click the download button. You can install Pixelmator Pro on up to 6 Mac devices with a single license as long as you use the same Apple ID on each device. For more info about redownloading your past purchases, see Re-download apps and games from Apple.

I can see Pixelmator Pro has been updated but I am unable to download the latest version. What can I do?

First, try signing out of the App Store, restarting your Mac, then signing back in. After doing that, check the Updates tab in the App Store and try downloading the update again. If that doesn’t help, delete any copies of Pixelmator Pro from your Mac and re-download the app from the App Store.

I’ve purchased Pixelmator Pro but I can’t download the app without paying again. Why?

If that doesn’t help, make sure you are signed in to the App Store with the same Apple ID you used to purchase Pixelmator Pro. If you have changed your Apple ID region from one country or another or you’re using a new Apple ID, all your purchases will have been lost. In that case, you can email us with proof of purchase and we may be able to share a promo code with you.

Does Pixelmator Pro do everything I need?

If you know the name of the feature that you need, you can check out the Pixelmator Pro technical specifications page to make sure that feature is available. Other than that, the best way to make sure is to try the app for yourself – we have a 7-day free trial that you can use without any restrictions.

Which RAW formats does Pixelmator Pro support?

Pixelmator Pro features full support for RAW images from over 650 cameras. If your camera is relatively new and is not listed on that page, support will most likely be added in a future update to macOS and Pixelmator Pro will be able to take advantage of it automatically. If your camera model isn’t supported in Pixelmator Pro yet, please let us know by filling out this form and sharing a sample RAW file with us. This way, we can work on adding support for more cameras in the future.
