All I wanna do is create an image with a transparent background. I want to go down select the circle creator tool, make a circle and have the background be transparent? What am I missing?

So now I've found out that somehow I was able to get the transparent background in Xcode... but why doesn't it show me that it's going to be transparent? You should see a light grey and white checkerboard to represent transparency. Not a white background right? How do I know when something is actually transparent before saving and sending it over to another program or image.....

Hi Maeser,

In Pixelmator you can specify the New Image Contents as white, black, or transparent. For that, choose Pixelmator >Preferences and find the New Image Contents option in the General tab.

If you select the New Image Contents to be transparent, you should always start with a transparent checkered background as your workspace.

Hope this helps!
